Understanding MSG
"We priests are scandalized by even the slightest things, whereas the truth is the exact opposite. We are never scandalized, no profession has to deal with sin on such a continual basis as ours. The confessional is our operating room. Just as surgeons have no fear of blood, so we priests are no longer afraid of scandal and sin."

This is an extraordinary provocative statement. Understanding what goes in the minds of MSG followers, I stuck up to this. Religion has always provided metamorphosis for the priest to turn into some one which they are not. Provided them a veil of cunningness. To judge us, to lead the believers and not be the leader but the king makers. No profession survives on sins of the people, fear of the people as the business of religion. It guarantees safe passage.
Controversial god man, baba ram rahim also known as the messenger of God to his followers. |
The religion which has always been guiding light for ethics. By being religion, these God men are no longer a loner priest but they become the religion.
"L'etat c'est moi." These words from Louis XIV are famous today as a symbol of absolute monarchy. "I am the state.", is the rough translation of the sentence. He meant them literally, as in there was no opposition. Likewise, we are dealing not with godmen but the religion itself.Which they have nurtured with the overly consumeristic appeal, worldly pleasures and a sense of community protection. Remember, these are the values which have not trickled down to the rural area with the limited metropolis centric model we have in India.
One can simply put sides these factors by calling MSG a bluff and his followers are stupid or can dig deeper to understand why it is happening.
